The VfL Bochum women's team not only impressed at the meet & greet in Hamburg's HafenCity, but also on the pitch with a thrilling last-minute victory against HSV. Thanks to a strong team performance and Nina Kerkhoff's decisive goal, the team celebrated another success in the 2nd Women's Bundesliga.
On Sunday evening, we had the pleasure of meeting the VfL Bochum women's team at a meet and greet in our Hamburg office in HafenCity. Despite a long day of travel, the players surprised us with their warm energy and good humor. In a relaxed atmosphere, we were able to have personal conversations and experience their passion for football firsthand. It was a particular honor for the DMV Group to meet these impressive athletes.
The next day, the Bochum women took to the pitch – and with success! In the thrilling match against Hamburger SV, Mara Wilhelm seized the ball shortly before the final whistle, dribbled forward, and delivered a perfect pass to Nina Kerkhoff. Kerkhoff kept her composure and scored the decisive goal in the 93rd minute. After a dominant first half and a strong defensive performance, they were rewarded in the final seconds.
With this victory, the VfL women climb to fourth place in the 2nd Women's Bundesliga. Kyra Malinowski's team could even reach the top of the table with a win in their rescheduled match on Thursday. We look forward to continuing to support the team and are eagerly anticipating the upcoming games!
